It’s an invitation to my wedding. 

Very sorry! I’ve been busy as of late.

Of course! I have them especially imported from a mare who goes under the name of The Muffin Connoisseur. I wish I knew who she was…

From what I’ve been told by Tia, Mother was born from the Cosmos. She came to Earth when it was barren. Where she trotted, flowers and grass and trees grew and rivers, lakes and oceans sprang. But still something was missing. She found that her plants began to wilt in the darkness. That, and Mother was dreadfully lonely. So she created Celestia- or rather, gave birth to her- and with her, the sun was created. Under Mother and Celestia’s care, the plants began to bloom once more. However, they soon found that the sun’s rays were too harsh. So Mother gave birth to another child- me. She taught us that for the Earth to thrive, we must constantly keep the world in balance.

Mother, Celestia and I were pleased with our work and even then the world was incomplete. Together, we fashioned the species you see today: Griffins, Dragons, Zebras and of course, the three types of ponies. We created their ancestors and those ancestors in turn became the Gods the Zebras worshiped and so on. We were also responsible for the other animals: birds, reptiles, fish…most any friendly creature. We crafted the Elements of Harmony as well, though it would be a long time before we needed to use them.

Then the Cosmos gave birth again. There was to balance in the land. For with goodness comes darkness. Discord was born a few hundred years after our creation (though he was not yet as twisted as you have seen him), as were the Changelings, The Windigoes and other dark creatures who were bent on preying on our creations. And the worse of all- the darkness that would one day transform me into Nightmare Moon. We had no name for this evil for it was faceless, deadly and would slink about in the shadows.

Then Mother was killed. The Darkness had threatened to consume her but she was far too strong. She banished both herself and the evil that was clinging tightly on to her to the sun. Her body was destroyed- she was not equipped to survive the sun as her daughter was. We thought that was the end of it. 

So the Earth flourished in peace for many years. Until the darkness fell once more to earth in the form of a meteor. To this day, my sister and I do not know how the evil survived or escaped…perhaps evil cannot be extinguished completely. But it was back and it was angry. Discord, up to this point, was harmless. He played tricks, yes, but they were for fun and never to harm. Then the darkness consumed him and he became… threatening. For the first time, my sister and I used the Elements of Harmony to seal him away and once more, we trapped away the darkness. 

You can figure out what happened next- years later, it struck again. This time it had consumed me. My sister was always the kind to step up and govern. I was in the shadows, her younger sister who she felt she must protect. She was busy most days and I became jealous of the attention the other ponies gave her. So I turned- and was banished, only to be freed by Twilight and her friends. Now the darkness had slunk away again, but I’m sure it’s a matter of time before it rises again. Until then, we can look forward to peace.

Hopefully they’ll stay put from wherever they came from…And most likely. Villains don’t give up easily. And as I said before, I don’t think the Queen is the type to team up.

A small impromptu date with Twilight. Many ponies are out tonight…it’s rather wonderfu.

As an Alicorn, my magic isn’t limited as much as other ponies, but I do specialize at magic involving the night sky and also with water.

Discord was stored away in a guarded tower. Believe me when I say that sister tightened security after the second Discord incident…As for Chrysalis, I don’t see her wanting to share the glory of victory.
