“We could be great together. Your magic and mine.” Discord said smoothly, his paw nudging Luna’s chin upwards so that she would meet his gaze, “You, the forgotten Princess and I, a monstrosity. No pony would forget us then.”

“I don’t know…” Luna said softly as she tore her gaze from Discord’s. Her head was swimming with confusion. Her sister did not trust Discord- he was a known trouble maker. His pranks had never caused any pony harm. Yet, Luna reminded herself chidingly. The trickster had grown more careless as the days went by. 

And yet she could not help being sympathetic toward the strange creature before her. He was reviled, spurned and ignored. She knew why he created such mayhem- loneliness could be suffocating and one would do anything for attention. Perhaps that was why she was so drawn to him and he to her.

“Think of the chaos we could cause!” Discord urged, “We could take the kingdom and turn it into something far more fun than anything your stuffy sister could.”

Luna sat silently her heart fluttering painfully. As much as she yearned to say yes, she knew she could not betray her sister. That, coupled with the malice behind the jovial twinkle in Discord’s eyes gave Discord her final answer, “I can’t.”
